If you're a lover of Thai cuisine, then you'll definitely want to try out some cooking classes while you're in Chiang Mai. I recently went on a culinary adventure and discovered two amazing cooking schools that I can personally recommend – Thai Cooking Class August 26-2014 and Zabb-E-Lee. Let me tell you all about my experiences at these two schools!
Thai Cooking Class August 26-2014
This school was definitely an authentic Thai experience! The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, and they took the time to explain each step of the cooking process to us in great detail. We learned how to create a variety of dishes, including classic Thai favorites like Pad Thai and Green Curry, as well as some lesser-known dishes that were equally delicious.
One of the things I really loved about this cooking class was the emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. We went to a local market at the beginning of the class to pick out our ingredients, and the instructors showed us how to choose the best produce and herbs. We then used these ingredients to make our own dishes, and it made such a big difference in the taste and quality of the final product.
The class was also very fun and engaging – we got to work in pairs and everyone had a chance to participate in each step of the cooking process. The instructors were patient and encouraging, and made sure that everyone felt comfortable and confident in their skills. We finished off the class by sitting down together and enjoying our delicious creations – it was such a satisfying and memorable experience!
Zabb-E-Lee
The second cooking school I tried out was Zabb-E-Lee, and it was equally amazing in its own way. This school had more of a modern and luxurious vibe, with a beautiful open-air kitchen and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The class started off with a welcome drink and a tour of the organic farm that supplies the school with its fresh ingredients.
The instructors at Zabb-E-Lee were also incredibly skilled and talented, and they showed us some really unique and creative ways to use traditional Thai ingredients. We made dishes like Tom Kha Gai soup with coconut foam and crispy shallots, and Massaman Curry with braised beef and avocado. Everything tasted so amazing and looked really beautiful too – it was like we were creating works of art instead of just cooking!
One of the things I appreciated most about Zabb-E-Lee was the attention to detail and the high level of service. The staff made us feel like VIPs, and they were constantly checking in on us and offering us refreshments or snacks between dishes. They even gave us a certificate at the end of the class, which was a really nice touch.
Overall, I would highly recommend both of these cooking schools to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Whether you're a seasoned chef or a novice, you'll learn a ton of new skills and have a lot of fun along the way. Plus, you'll get to enjoy some truly incredible Thai food that you made with your own two hands – what could be better than that?
